ADM will manufacture The EVERY Company’s OvoPro at the processor’s corn complex in Clinton, Iowa, according to vegconomist. The publication said the agreement gives the precision-fermented egg-white protein its first production site in the United States.
The central effect is to provide multinational customers with manufacturing in another region, reducing EVERY’s dependence on contractors in Europe, vegconomist reported. The outlet described the deal as a response to supply limits encountered during scaling and as additional protection against disruption at any single plant.
ADM and EVERY describe OvoPro as recombinant ovalbumin made through fermentation instead of hens, according to vegconomist. The companies say the ingredient can bind, gel, foam and whip; they also assign it a PDCAAS rating of 1.0 and say it contains neither fat nor cholesterol, the publication reported.
The report did not provide an opening date or production-volume target for Clinton. Vegconomist linked the capacity push to increased demand after EVERY’s ingredients entered Walmart and Target stores across the country, alongside online retail and foodservice. The publication added that ADM portrays OvoPro as an extension of egg supply rather than a replacement for conventional eggs.
CONCLUSION For ADM, the pact directs corn-complex capacity toward an ingredient competing with an animal-protein category, as vegconomist observed. A separate Huvepharma project at Biovet AD’s Peshtera plant remains another capacity marker: vegconomist said that expansion was expected to increase output by about four times.
